AMMITEC GOALS
A.M.M.I.TE.C. (Association of Maritime Managers of Information Technology and Communications) is a non-profit Forum bringing together all the I.C.T. Professionals of the Maritime Industry. AMMITEC aims to become a professional body with a strong voice amongst the Maritime and the ICT industries. The main goals of AMMITEC are:
- To promote the most efficient use of the latest Information and Communication Technologies in the Maritime Industry. To enhance the “best business practices” in the sector. To elevate the role of ICT within the Shipping Companies.
- To assist and train the ICT Professionals in the latest developments in Technologies and Business Practices by organizing training seminars and other events about the hottest topics of interest, and through the efficient organization and usage of this Web site.
- To become a Forum for the Maritime ICT Professionals to contact each other and to exchange views, ideas and experiences in their areas of expertise. To facilitate their daily work by providing answers to questions and other similar technical assistance.
- To collaborate closely with other National and International Maritime and Technology Professional Bodies in shaping the corresponding policies and standards related to the Maritime ICT sector.
AMMITEC MEMBERSHIP
There are two levels of Membership:
- Full Membership applies ICT Professionals who hold managerial positions within ICT Departments of Shipping Companies (Ship Management and Operators, Ship Agencies, Shipbrokers) world-wide. Only Full Members have voting and decision-making rights in AMMITEC.
- Associate Membership is open to all ICT Professional who are involved with the Maritime ICT Sector and who wish to work with AMMITEC in promoting its goals. Associate Members enjoy all the benefits of membership (information sharing, participation in events, discounts, etc) except the voting right.
